Microsoft Begins Testing Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4469342 for Version 1809

A new cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1809 is just around the corner, as Microsoft has started testing KB4469342 as part of the Windows Insider program today.

This update is now available for insiders in the Release Preview ring, though a changelog hasn’t been provided and a KB page isn’t live just yet.

And while it’s not known what this update is actually fixing, the file associations issue that we reported about lately is very likely to be targeted. Microsoft originally promised it would resolve this problem in late November.

Cumulative update KB4469342 will push the OS build number to 17763.165, and it is expected to be released to production devices sometime next week.

A more cautious approach

By the looks of things, KB4469342 doesn’t come all alone, but alongside a new Servicing Stack Update (SSU) labeled as KB4470788.
