How to Disable CD Burning Features in Windows 10 Version 1803

There was a time when applications like Nero or CDBurnerXP were super-popular, as the lack of enough storage space on local drives made burning CDs and DVDs a necessity for many users out there.

And because Microsoft was trying to make Windows an operating system that adapted to users’ needs, the operating system was updated with disc burning capabilities, essentially allowing users to create data CDs or DVDs without the need for a third-party application.

File Explorer was in charge of everything. A blank disk was all you needed because otherwise, File Explorer allowed you to simply copy the files you want to burn to the disc drive and start the burning process using nothing more than the basic options.

Obviously, for more advanced burning options and support for boot CDs, for instance, third-party software was still the answer, but other than that the built-in functionality was pretty useful.
